Congratulations to the following CFE members on being included in Crain's Notable Women in Finance. According to the article, finance has been one of the toughest fields for women in terms of reaching senior leadership positions. Recent research by Catalyst shows that globally, women held only 12.2 percent of CFO roles in 2018. In the world of alternative investments—hedge funds, private equity and venture capital, and private real estate funds—only 13 percent of CEOs were women. A look at Crain's Notable Women in Finance should be cause for optimism. A number of the 30 women profiled are steering the financial functions of their companies and nonprofits. Role models for the next generation, to be sure.
