1) Pre-Qualification:

• Must be completed by sponsor -- not the candidate.
• Please provide as much information as you can on the form. The seconding member information is not required at this stage of the process. 

Email the nomination form and the candidates resume or LinkedIn profile link to membership@chicagofinanceexchange.org. One of the committee chairs, Maria Tabrizi, Julie Durkin, or Susan McDermott, will follow up as needed.

Once the document is received, the candidate will be reviewed by the Membership Committee. Sponsors will be notified if the candidate is pre-qualified and ready to move on to step 2. 

2) Attend an Event:

Candidates are required to attend a CFE event, preferably an in-person event. However, to accommodate schedules, some CFE virtual events will satisfy this requirement. For events with a guest fee, a discount code will be provided for the candidate to attend. View the list of upcoming events.

Prior attendance at a CFE in-person event may count toward fulfilling this requirement.

3) Complete the Application:

Once the candidate is pre-qualified and has attended an event, the sponsor should complete the remainder of the nomination packet and email it to one of the membership co-chairs at membership@chicagofinanceexchange.org

1. Completed nomination form (if not fully completed at pre-qualification)

2. A seconding letter of support from another CFE member in good standing. This can be added to the nomination form or submitted as a separate document.

In cases where the sponsor, candidate and seconding member are not from three different companies/organizations, TWO members must second the nomination with each member providing a letter of support.   

The membership committee will review the application to confirm that all steps are completed and the candidate is approved. 


4) Board Confirmation

At their regularly scheduled meetings, the Board of Directors will formally approve candidate applications presented by the Membership Committee. Once confirmed, the member sponsor is asked to share the good news with their candidate.
